Lead Generation: The Blood In The Veins Of Any Business

by Muhammad Asmal

Why Is Lead Generation So Important

If your business exists in the real world, if it’s not a figment of your imagination, if it has a presence in the market, whether that presence is physical or digital, then it needs customers.

Customers are the lifeline of any business. That’s how you generate sales. That’s how you survive.

With the kind of tough competition you have nowadays, what you need, like every other business out there, is lead generation.

What Is Online Lead Generation

Online lead generation refers to the process of developing the interest of possible customers in your product or service by providing them the required information in a way that attracts them and lures them into giving you their personal information and eventually, end up buying your product.

Lead Generation Challenges

There are various factors affecting lead generation and you will have to take care of each and every one of them if you want to generate fresh leads that can actually be converted into loyal customers. There are a number of challenges a company faces when trying to generate leads. Some of them are:

• Looking for just the right strategy

• Hiring the right kind of people to generate leads

• Lead generation measurement and documentation

• Managing and tracking leads, and more.

Even though increasing quality leads is generally a business’s top priority, the truth of the matter is that businesses still find it one of their biggest challenges.

Lead Generation

Why Doesn’t Your Strategy Work?

For most companies, their lead generation projects end up as failures. Most of these failures are because of four mistakes that they make:

  1.  Wrong or ill-prepared strategies
  2.  Unoriginal content
  3.  Low-quality landing pages.
  4.  Not good enough follow-through

What To Do?

We’ve broken down the entire process into four phases.

Phase 1: Create A Stunning Marketing Strategy

The first and foremost thing you need when going for lead generation is an effective marketing strategy. Without it, all your efforts are worthless. When you build your strategy, you will think about every step of the process.

Taking a page from the great Albert Einstein’s book, and tearing it up a bit, we say: “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting the same result.”

What used to work in 2009, will not work in 2010, and don’t even think about using it in 2020.

Phase 2: Develop Original And Attractive Content

When people come to your websites, or your social media pages, they are looking for something that the others can’t give them. They are looking for authenticity and originality. And that is exactly what you must deliver.

Phase 3: Create An Excellent Promotion

You have awesome content that you’re ready to share. What to do now? How to attract just the right kind of customers? How to find them? How to convince them to give you their personal information?

Phase 4: Nurture The Leads

Once you’ve done all the hard work to get the leads, now you have to work twice as hard to nurture them. You have to educate them about your product, gain their trust, and ensure that you have what they need.

Doing Twice The Work In Half The Time

If you hire a lead generation company then they will be responsible for generating new leads for your business, while you are free to spend your time on other important tasks like product development, quality assurance, customer service, or something else. This way your business will grow twice as fast as you will be able to make new customers, all the while ensuring that you deliver the right kind of service or product and take care of any and all the problems that they may be facing.

Just imagine; you walk into your office on a Monday, turn on your workstation, and find out that there are a whole bunch of new leads waiting for your response in your inbox. Wouldn’t that be something?
